Topics of Interest

• The Concepts Section provides basic education for those not familiar with financial concepts. Example topics explained include:  progressive taxation, the Rule of 72, and how inflation impacts your savings
• In Industry Topics, each article reviews an aspect of the current financial system which works against the financial future of Canadians. We challenge the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) to address these concerns which must be resolved to achieve their goal of better financial futures for average Canadians.
• Vehicle topics discuss the types of registered accounts, when and why to use them, along with a high level overview of how they impact your taxes, now and long-term.
• Investment types provides background on the classes of investment available to an average Canadian. We review available choices like bonds, stocks, mutual funds, index funds, and GICs. Finally we discuss how each fits into an overall financial strategy.
